Journal Policies

1. Editorial & Peer Review Policy

The Journal of Ayurveda Academia (JAA) follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

  • All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening.

  • Suitable submissions are sent to a minimum of two independent reviewers.

  • The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.

  • Editorial decisions are final and binding.


2. Publication Ethics & Malpractice Policy

JAA adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics.

  • Authors must submit original and unpublished work.

  • Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate submission are strictly prohibited.

  • All contributors must meet authorship criteria.

  • Conflict of Interest must be disclosed.

  • Allegations of misconduct will be handled according to established ethical guidelines.


3. Publication Charges Policy

Article Processing Charges (APC) are applicable to all articles except invited articles.

Effective from 01 January 2026:

  • India: ₹3,000

  • SAARC Countries: $100 USD

  • Other Countries: $200 USD

APC is payable only after acceptance of the manuscript.

Requests for waiver or concession may be considered in exceptional cases at the discretion of the journal.


4. Mode of Payment

  • Payment must be made after acceptance of the manuscript.

  • Authors will receive official payment details (Bank/UPI/Online) along with acceptance notification.

  • Publication will proceed only after confirmation of payment.

  • Authors should retain proof of transaction.


5. Refund Policy

  • APC once paid is non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • Any excess or duplicate payment will be adjusted against future submissions.

  • No refund will be issued in case of withdrawal, plagiarism, or legal disputes.


6. Copyright & Licensing Policy

  • Authors retain copyright of their work.

  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

  • This license allows users to share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, with proper attribution and distribution under the same license.

  • Commercial use requires prior permission from the journal and/or authors.


7. Open Access Policy

JAA is a fully open access journal.

  • All articles are freely accessible without subscription.

  • Users may read, download, copy, and distribute content with proper citation.


8. Archiving & Preservation Policy

  • The journal ensures long-term preservation through secure digital archiving and institutional repositories.

  • All published content remains permanently accessible.


9. Data Sharing Policy

  • Authors are encouraged to include a data availability statement.

  • Supporting datasets may be submitted as supplementary files where applicable.


10. Ethical Approval Policy

  • Studies involving human or animal subjects must include ethical approval details.

  • Informed consent is mandatory where applicable.

  • Clinical trials should be registered with appropriate authorities (e.g., CTRI).


11. Author Guidelines

Authors must follow:

  • Standard manuscript structure (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References)

  • Prescribed formatting and referencing style

  • Submission guidelines as provided on the journal website


12. Publication Process & Timeline

  • Initial Screening: 3–5 days

  • Peer Review: 2–4 weeks

  • Final Decision: Within 4–6 weeks

  • Publication: Within 7–10 days after acceptance and payment


13. Indexing & DOI Policy

  • All articles are assigned DOI through CrossRef.

  • The journal aims for indexing in recognized databases including Directory of Open Access Journals, Scopus, and PubMed.


14. Plagiarism Policy

  • All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection tools.

  • Acceptable similarity index: below 10–15%.

  • Manuscripts exceeding limits may be rejected or returned for revision.


15. Advertising & Sponsorship Policy

  • Editorial decisions are independent of advertisements or sponsorships.

  • No commercial influence is permitted in editorial processes.


16. Ownership & Governance Policy

  • The journal is published by a Team of Ayurveda professionals.

  • The editorial board operates with full academic independence.


17. Privacy & Confidentiality Policy

  • Personal data of authors and reviewers is kept confidential.

  • Information is used solely for publication and editorial purposes.


18. Withdrawal Policy

  • Manuscripts may be withdrawn before acceptance with valid justification.

  • Withdrawal after acceptance is not permitted.

  • Articles may be removed post-publication only in cases of serious ethical or legal concerns.
